Spiced Pecans

Feel free to vary the seasoning combination. This is an easy pecan snack and works well for a party or nosh or as a gift.

INGREDIENTS:
5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon salted butter, melted
4 cups pecan halves - if you are making them for home consumption, you can go with the broken halves, which are often cheaper.
1 teaspoon seasoning blend with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder (Cajun seasoning or seasoned salt blend)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce

PREPARATION:
Combine butter and pecans in a large shallow roasting pan. Roast in a preheated 325° oven for 15 minutes, stirring from time to time. Mix the seasonings then sprinkle with the mixture and toast, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes longer or until evenly brown.
Remove from oven and cool thoroughly. Pack in airtight containers and store in a cool dry place for up to 1 month. Serve as a party snack or give as gifts wrapped in colored cellophane wrap tied with bows and placed in mugs, or give in decorative small jelly jars.

Makes 4 cups.
